Psalm 22:24 says: “For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard.”
David reminds us that when we cry out to God, He hears us. This story reminds me of a personal experience as a young police officer. I was heading to training school and facing some profound challenges in my life. I remember being overwhelmed and suddenly turning on the radio in my car. By some coincidence, if you can call it that, Billy Graham's message was playing. At that moment, even though I didn't understand the message, I offered a simple prayer: God, help me.
It was my own blind man on the side of the road moment, like the man who cried out to Jesus for mercy as he was passing by. Just like Jesus heard that man, God heard me, too, that day. Remember that when we cry out to God, He listens. Let's have faith and trust that our Lord is always there to hear us and respond to our cries for help. Call out to Him now if you're going through a tough time.
It’s time to pray.
