The Tabernacle was a copy of things in heaven and it was God's temporary arrangement for salvation in the Old Testament. However, it was mostly a prophetic picture of what Jesus would one day do to atone for our sin. It had three main areas, just as there are three heavens, and three parts to the human being - the body, soul and spirit.
