Week 4 – Jesus the Provider
As people, we all know what it’s like to question who we are and what our purpose is. But what about the identity of Jesus? Do we know who He is? The real Jesus not just the image we have of Him? His identity changes everything about who we are trying to be as Christians.
John 6:1-15 This is the story of the feeding of the 5,000.
Jesus knew if He could provide for their physical needs, they’d be more open to what He could offer them spiritually.
Jesus is a Provider. Jesus is the Provider.
Jesus can provide everything from nothing.
If we’re empty, we have nothing to give.
The primary reason we don’t pray dangerous prayers is because they might prompt us to do hard things.
We don’t do hard things because we don’t know how to do hard things.
The greatest rewards in my life, I would have missed, if I wasn’t willing to do hard things to receive them.
Psalm 139:23-24, Psalm 139:19-22 David is praying to God.
Show me what I need to change.
If you pray this prayer, it will require you to acknowledge that you have some work to do…on YOU.
David asked God to reveal his anxiety.
“God, am I allowing crippling fear to short change my calling, purpose or blessing?”
David asked God to reveal his sin.
“God, is there a sin I need to put to death that is stifling my calling, purpose or blessing?”
David asked God to lead him.
“God, is there a place or calling in my life that I’m missing because I’m scared to follow you entirely?”
