Kelly Steeper encourages us from the life of David who was called a man after God’s heart. Despite his many failures he continued to turn back to God and return to habits he built up in his time as a young shepherd. He made time for God. He was about God’s Glory. When David was Afraid, he trusted God. When he was at the end of himself, he turned to God When he sinned, he was deeply sorrowful and repentant. When he felt alone, he talked to God. He was a lifelong seeker and finder of the Lord.
As you think about what your reasonable and spiritual act of worship is (Romans 12:1), remember that your whole life can be lived in a way that honours God. Communion with Jesus is our greatest reward, and he calls us to bring every area of our lives to him. In Matthew 11:28-29 Jesus calls us to himself in every situation of life, and as a result our life is a living sacrifice to Him. The reward of seeking Him is finding Him and a lifelong relationship of communion with our God.
