Often we’ve fall into complicating “church”. We make something simple unnecessarily complex. Like unnecessary ingredients will dilute the flavour of a sauce, unnecessary ingredients in church can diminish the Jesus flavour. Identifying and focusing on the irreducible minimums/essential ingredients that make up church helps refine and strengthen effectiveness/potency of our churches. A helpful summary of these are Worship, Community, & Mission. Whenever/wherever a group of Jesus followers participate in expressing these three essential ingredients they are functioning as the church… which happens to be the task force God has called/assigned to push back forces of darkness in the world. Healthy church is not defined by size or efficiency of systems. Healthy churches are ones that look, act, and taste like Jesus in their expressions of Worship, Community, and Mission. At Lifetree we are praying and believing for God to raise up more micro-churches, expressing sincere worship and genuine community while accomplishing part of the mission of God.
