Caleb Friesen shares some reflections on where God has us. We're in a season reminiscent of Israel's wilderness season. Our past ways of life and church feel like ancient history, and the way of our future is not totally clear. Through Moses’ words in Deuteronomy 8, we can see how God uses seasons like this to develop in us characteristics needed to walk in His promises without the pride, that often accompanies success, destroying us. We see that God actually orchestrates much of the unfamiliar and uncomfortable to produce in us humility, dependence, gratitude, a 'hear and follow’ heart, and ultimately a love more for Him than His blessings.
What is God developing in you through this season?
What is the good that is being worked out of your present circumstances?
Ask God to show you how that is going to help you walk in the future He has planned for you.
"Wilderness on purpose -
Dry and weary land.
Felt alone and hopeless;
In truth you held my hand.
Teaching lessons needed
For the future planned.
So in the promise entered
By grace I’d learn to stand."
