In Matthew 1, the angel tells Joseph to name the child Jesus, which was a common name at that time, but then he says the child will save HIS people from their sins, making Him unlike all the other little boys who may have borne the same name. Jesus was conceived in Mary from the Holy Spirit, making Him fully God and fully man. His unique identity makes all the difference for us.
