Dr. Melissa Hamilton is a professor at the University of Surrey in Guildford, England. Her areas of research focus on issues related to domestic and sexual violence, trauma responses in victims of assault, risk assessment practices, policing, sentencing, and corrections. Dr. Hamilton is affiliated with the following institutions: State Bar of Texas, American Psychological Association, American Psychology-Law Association, Institute on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, International Corrections and Prisons Association, Risk Assessment Task Force, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Royal Statistical Society.
