“What’s Wrong With This Picture”

#1. We’re Tired.

#2. To Stop The Noise

#3. We’re Afraid

#4. We’re Not Excited

“you snooze, you lose”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:14‬‬  Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.

You’re tired

Matthew 11:28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Life Is Loud

“Though it could hold an audience of thousands of restless people, the voice of Jesus was not loud. It’s timber was one of the marvelous delicacy. It was a voice to love, too long for, to follow, to obey, and that could be recalled long after it had ceased.” - Elizabeth Stuart Phelps Ward

You’re Afraid Of The “What If”

John 10:10 I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

John 16:33 In this world, you will have trouble But take heart! I have overcome the world.

You’re Just Not That Excited

Romans 8:11 God raised Jesus to life! And since God’s Spirit of Resurrection lives in you, he will also raise your dying body to life by the same Spirit that breathes life into you!

ROSIE VIDEO

Romans 6:6-11 Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer captive to sin’s demands! What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ’s sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Never again will death have the last word. When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us. From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did.
