Description

Matthew 13:34 All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them,

Matthew 13:10

parable - to throw or to cast alongside.

Parables are earthly analogies that explain heavenly realities.

By using parables Jesus was able to reveal truth and hide truth.

Matthew 13:12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

Matthew 13:24

The Parable of the Tares Explained

Matthew 13:36

#1 God Owns The Field

Matthew 13:37 “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world,

Matthew 13:24 “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;

Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.

ownership determines control

#2 People Are Seeds

Matthew 13:38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.

When God sees a problem, He sows a person.

When the enemy (Satan) sees a problem, He sows a person.

Ephesians 6:12 We do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Our battle is not against a flesh and blood enemy, it’s against a spiritual enemy that influences flesh and blood.

John 10:10a The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;

John 10:10b I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Matthew 13:28 The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”

#3 God Does Not Plant Weeds

Matthew 13:27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’

Matthew 13:28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’

Evil and bad things are the outgrowth of the wicked one and His influence.

1 Peter 5:8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

Stay alert = have a healthy and realistic view of ourselves and of the world we live in.

Act Like Wheat

1. Wheat Is Planted

2. Wheat Is Individual

3. Wheat is moved By Wind -  Wind = Word

4. Wheat Moves In Unity

Ephesians 4:1-3 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
