Scripture: Exodus 20:1-6
You shall have no other God before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol.
This homily introduces President Barnes' five-week series on the Ten Commandments and make the case that these commandments are a blessing because ironically it is God’s law that makes us free. The first two signposts to freedom call us to remain faithful to a mysterious God who will not be shaped by human imagination.
