Welcome to episode #102!

In this episode, Matt and Braden interview author, podcaster, and founder of Husband Material, Drew Boa.

Body memories have power
We have different kinds of memories and some are more powerful than others. When we have a memory that's attached to a song, hearing that song will probably bring us back to an initial or emotional memory we had while that song was playing. In the same way, when we have a memory that's attached to a certain kind of situation, emotion, or person, it's easy to get triggered to go back to the feelings we experienced in that memory. If we don't do this, emotions stay stuck inside us and drag us down in life more than they need to.

You can meet your inner child
In your imagination, you can go interact with your younger self. Speak with your inner child with love, compassion, empathy, and understanding. If the memory is too hard and you can't face seeing yourself, commit the memory to Jesus and move onto something you can handle. Through interacting with yourself, you're gaining victory over a situation that may have kept you down.

Bring Jesus into our memories
Jesus is everywhere - and that includes in our memories. If we are willing to go back to hard memories and invite Jesus to speak to our younger selves, He will speak truth over us and the situation that will change the way we see ourselves in that memory. It brings an amazing peace and freedom when our perception of our memories change based on the truth that Jesus speaks over our younger selves.
