Description

Welcome to episode #120! Matt and Braden go in depth at how Jesus viewed temptation and what adjustments we need to make

Temptation is an opportunity for victory
Jesus was never scared of being tempted. When temptation came, He knew how to live in victory because He had spent so much time with His Father, growing deeper spiritual roots to help Him stay grounded. When temptation has kept us bound for so long, it's easy to instantly feel defeated, but if we can change our viewpoint to recognizing it as an opportunity for God to show you the victory you can live in, temptation isn't scary and God becomes more real.

Temptation is a learning opportunity
Our response to temptation shows a lot of what's going on, for better or for worse. When we get tempted, we can spend time learning spiritual warfare, how to pray and worship through storms, and we can also look at our heart condition or habits that might be allowing a crack to form in our foundation.

In both paradigm shifts, temptation pushes us to Jesus
Whether you can see your response to temptation as an opportunity for victory or more of a learning opportunity, both approaches push us to Jesus. We can't have victory without Jesus and we can't learn what we need to learn without Him. God will always provide a victory and a lesson in a time of temptation, but we have to be looking to Him to live it out.
