Description

Welcome to episode #136! This week, Matt and Braden take a look at what soul ties are, how they get created, and how to break their power over our lives.

What are soul ties?
Soul ties are usually created through sexual behaviour, but can also be present in relationships where the emotional connection is greater than normal. This is meant to be a positive to keep people drawn to each other on a soul-level in a covenant relationship. When we engage in behaviour that is meant for a covenant relationship with someone we aren't in a covenant with, it can create a 'tie' to that person even years after the relationship ends. In these circumstances, these ties to people in our past can hinder us from freely moving forward into other prosperous relationships.

How to identify negative soul ties
These soul ties commonly show up in the form of constantly thinking about a person from your past or present that you aren't in a covenant relationship with. You might feel a connection with them even if you're in another relationship or you may just not be able to let go of special memories you had with that person. This will often stem from a deeper-than-normal emotional connection or sexual activity with that person.

The blood of Jesus can break soul ties and set you free!
If you identify someone from your past that you may have stronger-than-normal emotions for, you can take a minute and pray this simple prayer to break a soul tie:
"Father, I pray in the name of Jesus that by the power of your blood, you separate my mind, body, soul, and emotions from (person's name). If there is any part of me that is connected to this person, I pray that you break that connection. I renounce this relationship and the hold it's had on my soul and agree with you Jesus that you have set me free. Thank you! Amen."
