Welcome to episode #65!
In this week's episode, Matt and Braden talk about the importance of filling the void that is left after we get porn out of our lives, specifically with proactive choices that move us towards healing, growth and impact.
Have an attitude to grow and to be a lifelong learner!
We can be tempted to stop growing when we get porn-free, but there is a void that porn once occupied that needs to be filled. Often we have pain and habits in our life that have been tied into our addiction so we need to grow in those areas as well. We have to see that porn is just a symptom of root issues so that we will keep growing with God and others to learn about those areas and get healing. We have to fill the void with healthy practices and ongoing community.
If we aren't proactive, we drift back into old patterns
We never drift into freedom or healing or growth. If we don't make active choices to have community, to seek Jesus and follow Him, and to learn, we will revert back into old and sometimes destructive patterns. We need to make choices to be part of a healing community, to engage with Jesus, and to turn around and serve others.
God wants to use your story!
Others can benefit from your experiences, your story and your journey. God wants to use your story to build purpose for you and freedom for others! Serving others is a great way to grow. A byproduct of helping others is that we mutually are benefited, and it keeps us from falling back into patterns of isolation.
