ABOUT MARCO KOZLOWSKI

Marco is a boutique Real Estate Investing Mentor, Author, and trainer. For more than 22 years he’s been buying real estate, working his way up from single-family homes to, today, owning more than 6,000 units across various asset classes including multifamily, hospitality, and mobile home parks. He even recently purchased a bar in Orlando, Fl, where he lives. He is also the host of Big Fat Real estate checks. 

 

Although technically retired from his own holdings, his "ikigai" (reason for being) is to help others achieve the level of freedom they desire, by teaching his proven processes that anyone can follow to buy cash-flowing assets using other people’s money. Marco is a big believer in supporting others and contributing to his community. [25:10] I’m very warm with people but very cold with numbers because if I don’t get the right price, I cannot help you. If I’m not straight up with saying no that this is not going to happen, the numbers won’t allow it and you’re asking too much then it’s creating an environment where me and the seller against the bad guy which is the numbers. Because at the end of the day, cash makes the decision at least in my world. 

 

[25:51] It’s really helping someone serving at a level where you can be honest with them and be okay with them saying no as well. It’s okay if they don’t take an offer now, the fortune is in the follow-up.  They might not be ready today but maybe in 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days follow-up. 

 

[27:56] The more there is a disruption in the cycle, the more opportunity there is. I see a huge opportunity and we’re already seeing it, we’re buying hotels at half-price than what we’re buying a year ago. We’re buying really good deals, there’s always a segment of the market that is going to be affected by the down cycle than others so knowing what to buy will help you hedge your bets as things change. 

 

 

[43:08] Everyone wants to hide and doesn’t want to admit that they did something wrong which is very cancerous but when it’s celebrated, they’re excited to share with you what didn’t go up. It actually creates a lot more growth very quickly. The culture of hiding mistakes is terrible.
