Welcome to this special episode of Yesterday's Capers. Presenter Abdullah Moallim interviews Actor, Musician, and Producer Tom Lowe.
In this episode Abdullah caught up with Tom Lowe, one of the stars of the classic CBBC show 'No Sweat.' The show was all about the boyband North & South and how they formed.
Tom was part of the group and they went on to have a string of Top 20 singles including 'Tarantino's New Star,' 'Breathing' and their iconic Top 10 hit 'I'm a Man Not a Boy' which made it to number seven in the charts.
Tom tells us what it was like being in a boyband during the 90s, in amongst the likes of Boyzone, Westlife, Spice Girls, All Saints and Steps and how North & South managed to make their own stamp in such a competitive industry.
Tom also talks about what it was like being on CBBC, on prime time with audiences of up to 2.5 million people every Thursdays, and how that impacted the band's success in the charts and beyond.
Then Tom talks about life beyond North & South and how he managed to perform in London's West End in leading roles and moving to the USA and graduating from Harvard University.
Tom tells us all about his American Idol audition and what it was like facing Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paul Abdul.
And Tom talks about 'Real Life: The Musical,' a television show he hosted on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
