Description

Hello! You’ve joined The Script Mistress for Scene 21: The Romance Genre Hybrid! I am your host, Amber Bosworth and I had no idea how many romance sub-genres there were. There are multiple ways to integrate romance into your script.

The February Ink 2 Screen Challenge is currently underway. If you are just finding my podcast, I run a monthly short screenwriting challenge where writers get 5 days to write a new 5-page screenplay based on a prompt sent out the first day of the challenge. The winner gets $150 and every writer that submits a completed script gets detailed feedback. This is all included in the $15 entry fee. You can check it all out at www.thescriptmistress.com/ink2screen. The February challenge runs until the 19th. If you’d like to join us for March, head over to the website and sign up. March 15-19th.

WRITING ACTION: For this week, pick a sub-genre that appeals to you. Use the Free LOGLINE cheat sheet and see if you can come up with 3 different loglines within that sub-genre. And if you’re feeling very motivated, use this technique to write on all the different genres and see which one appeals to you the most. Feel free to share some of your thoughts on the Facebook page at  www.facebook.com/ink2screen or email me at amber@thescriptmistress.com to get extra help.

Don’t forget about the monthly screenwriting challenge. March is open for registration. You could win $150 and definitely get feedback on your writing, all for $15. Check it all out at www.thescriptmistress.com/ink2screen.

Thank you for listening and or watching! I truly value any feedback. If you have an idea for a podcast that might help, you can email me at amber@thescriptmistress.com. Like and follow this show wherever you are listening. Talk soon, and until then, happy writing.
