He is the first winner of the rebooted Ink 2 Screen Screenwriting Challenges I run every month. The third week of every month. We just wrapped up our October Challenge. The finalists won’t be announced until November 13th and the winner on November 14th. Just in time for the November challenge to begin on November 16th.
Now, if you are just finding me, The Script Mistress hosts the Ink 2 Screen Challenges. Writers get 5 days to write a brand new 5 page script based on a prompt sent out the day of the challenge. Writers sign up not knowing what prompt they will get. The winner gets $150, published on the Script Mistress website, and an interview on the Podcast. Writers also get in depth feedback on their scripts. I read them and provide feedback right on their script. I go over format, story, character development, and pacing. They also get a full page coverage breaking down what they excelled at and what they can do to improve their writing. All of this is included in the $15 entry fee. WRITING ACTION: Choose one day this week, mark it on your calendar. Observe your everyday environment and take a few pictures. At the end of the day, look at these pictures and find one that inspires you to write a few pages. Maybe it’ll inspire a new logline or concept you never considered.
