In this episode, we're talking about all things crystals and chakras!

Crystals were the gateway drug for Leslie's spiritual awakening. For the last three years, she's been surrounding herself with these beautiful stones which each have their own healing properties for the mind, body and soul.

This week's guest is also obsessed with crystals. Serena Lewis is a yoga teacher in Central Texas who teaches her clients about crystals and the chakra system. In this episode, we discuss her spiritual journey, chakras & their roles, why we hold trauma in our chakra and how to balance them, crystals & their benefits, how to use crystals to boost your life, which crystals you might want to use for self-love and self-healing and how to cleanse your crystals.

The 7-chakra system: root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown.

Crystals that coordinate with each chakra:
1. root: red & black stones like garnet, black tourmaline & smokey quartz
2. sacral:  orange stones like carnelian, orange calcite & imperalian topaz
3. solar plexus: yellow stones like citrine, amber & golden tigerseye
4. heart: pink and green stones like rose quartz, green aventurine & jade
5. throat: blue stones like sodalite, blue kyanite & amazonite
6. third eye: indigo stones like lapis lazuli & azurite
7. crown: violet and golden-white stones like amethyst, quartz crystal & white howlite

Suggested Crystal Starter Kit:
Quartz crystal (amplifies all other crystals)
Rose quartz (for self-love and compassion)
Smoky quartz (for grounding and protection from negative thoughts & feelings)
Citrine (for abundance and prosperity)
Amethyst (for calm and better sleep)
Black Tourmaline (for protection)

Serena Lewis offers public and personal yoga classes in Central Texas for all levels of yoga students. For those not in her neck of the woods, she offers online instruction. Serena hosts yoga retreats, yoga workshops, special classes and yoga teacher trainings. Serena enjoys sharing her love for yoga with the world. She considers yoga a form of self-expression.
