Episode 42: ‘Reggatta De Blanc’ - The Police (1979)

‘White Reggae’

With their intense touring schedule fine tuning their cohesiveness and tightness, The Police presented us with a sharper, more polished album that would be a defining moment in their career and in the development of New Wave and Rock in the UK.

Copeland’s percussive anti-backbeat grooves, Summer’s atmospheric & layered guitar tones and Sting’s Caribbean-inspired vocals & intricate bass lines, the trio created and executed a wonderful Rock/Reggae/Post-Punk hybrid record that has long stood the test of time and made The Police the band we know today.
