In Episode 77: Keeping Her Daughters Legacy Alive Through Acts Of Kindness, Genny Jessee joined Jill Devine to talk about the June Jessee Memorial Foundation.
In addition, she talked about June’s short time on this earth, as well as Genny’s perspective as a mother to a medically complex child and a mother to two healthy children.
Through the June Jessee Memorial Foundation, care packages are sent to families with children courageously facing medically complex conditions. Genny Jessee's team sent one of the care packages to Jill so Jill would understand how important these packages are to the caregivers. One of the items inside the care package was a workbook, Self-Love Workbook for Women: Release Self-Doubt, Build Self-Compassion, and Embrace Who You Are. The author of that workbook is Megan Logan, MSW, LCSW.
A little bit about Megan:
With 20 years of counseling experience, I have developed strong clinical skills in a variety of mental health settings. I have specialized training and experience working with mood disorders, grief/loss, eating disorders, sexual abuse, personality disorders, trauma and children/adolescents. I use a variety of clinical frameworks, including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Play Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I am continually learning new techniques and interventions to provide the most effective and efficient therapy possible. While experience is essential in providing quality services, so is connection.
Jill has been digging through the workbook and knew other women would benefit from it, so she invited Megan on the podcast to talk through some of the things in the workbook.
