NOTES:
The message today is on parenting. It comes from the shortest letter in the New Testament, and perhaps John’s most personable letter - the Third Epistle of John. The title will be “Keeping Their Watch over Their Flock”. I will examine some of the people who are in the lives of our children and how we can pray for these who are most likely already there. I will begin with a reference to a survey by Springtide Research Institute on Gen Z-ers (ages 13-25) that was cited on the LifeWay Research page that I read recently. I hope that the podcast and message will be helpful to our Growing in Grace listeners.
We will look at the following groups: Trainers like John the Elder (vs. 1-4), Teachers like Gaius (vs. 1, 3-5), Trailblazers like the itinerant missionaries (vs. 3, 5-8), Team Players like the church family and friends (vs. 6, 9-10, 15), Transformers like Demetrius (v. 12) and Troublemakers like ole Diotrephes (vs. 9-10).
