NOTES:
Do we owe our mothers anything for all that they have done. A singer from the past named Jimmy Dean gave a musical tribute to his mother as he told his mother with background music how grateful he was for all that she had done for him in his life. This text speaks of two boys that owed their very existence to their mother. Had she not acted quickly, she and her sons would have surely perished. What would those two sons say to us today if they could tell us how to honor our mothers on Mother’s Day?

1. Her Difficulties, 4:-2

2. Her Decisions, 4:1-2

3. Her Diligence, 4:3-6

4. Her Delight, 4:7

Sometimes I think mothers carry around an unnecessary load of self-imposed guilt. Most of the moms I know would never dream of insisting that they had raised or are raising their children perfectly. I would say the majority of mothers are overwhelmed with a sense of regret over what they wish they had done. I would like to end this podcast by reminding you ladies that Colossians 2:13-14 tells us that Jesus paid our sin debt in full on the cross. If there are outstanding IOU’s that you feel you still owe your kids because of your shortcomings in parenting, then I just want to point to the cross and say, “Jesus paid off all of your debts, your trespasses, your sins, your failures! Be free from the burden of sin this Mother’s Day!"
