Some have said there are three postures in the book of Numbers - walking, wandering and waiting. Perhaps, you are in one of those three postures in your life right now.
We are going to look at a lot of walking (and some waiting) described in Number 9:15-23. I like how the HCS study bible sets up an introduction to this text saying, “The poetic structure of verse 17 hints that this section was originally a song that was sung during the wilderness journey.”
If you think about it, many songs compare life to a journey. I recall my senior prom theme was based on the Beatles hit song, “The Long and Winding Road”. Don’t worry, I promise not sing when I do the podcast. Whitney Houston also had a song about her journey called, “Step by Step”. Rascal Flatts just “flat” out sings about the metaphor of a road, “Life Is a Highway”.
My purpose is to encourage and equip you today regarding staying on track with the will of God. Do you ever wish someone would address the topic of God’s will? I plan to speak about it in this message I am entitling, “Song of the Journey”.
