All of us who enjoy football are not fans of instant replay. Ha! Each year plays that we thought went one way, when watched again in slow motion go another way. As a matter of fact, although I personally favor college football, the NFL statistic reveal that in 2022 there were 164 plays that were overturned after the play went under review. You can just see things clearer when it is not in real time. Slow it down and watch how much stands out to you about the play.
Similarly, we sometimes need to slow temptation down and put it through a biblical replay device. It is not as overwhelming as it may seem in real time. For example, when one considers the five principles given to us about temptation in 1 Corinthians 10:13, it becomes obvious that with the Lord’s help, we can overcome temptation.
