Do you ever wrestle with worry? According to a 2023 Forbes article that I read recently, 19.1% of US adults suffer from an anxiety disorder. The National Institute of Mental Health discovered that the percentage significantly rises to 31.1% if one opens up the window to “at some point in their lives”. In other words, many of us will experience an anxiety attack at some point in life.
Scripture equips us for the challenges we face in life, while Christ empowers us with strength that we do not have in the flesh to overcome hurdles like stress and anxiety. There is no better biblical text to examine when formulating one’s person strategy for overcoming worry than Philippians 4:6-7. We will look at this text today and see what we should do when anxiety attacks. Let’s turn it around to prepare to attack anxiety with the Lord!
Problem with Anxiety
“Do not be anxious about anything…”
Prayer rather than Anxiety
“…but in everything by prayer and supplication…”

Plane High above Anxiety
“…and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding…”
