This was our unannounced film from 2020, The Invisible Man from Leigh Whannell, loosely based on the original novel by H.G. Wells. A movie about tormenting your ex, reclaiming your life and escaping toxic relationships, it does what all the best horror movies do: wrap up real world issues and traumas in a horrific analogy. You can be entertained by what it does at the surface level: a horror movie about tormenting your ex. Or you can take for the deeper story about escaping toxic relationships and reclaiming your independence. That is up to you.
