Description

What does intersectionality look like to you? For Rahul and Opal, growing up, their childhoods on opposite coasts couldn’t have been more different. However, they have something in common; they’re both adopted.

Chapter 7 discusses how they both found the language to solidify their adoptive identities as adults and the ways they want to change the narrative and the ideas surrounding adoption.

They hone in on the importance of having said language to describe their childhood experiences as a way to have deep conversations with loved ones who may not understand the effects of adoption. Today, each of them do what they can in earnest to support all members of the adoption & foster ecosystem to empower the next generation of people with similar experiences.
