Paul Bloch, Co-founder and Chief Design Officer at Fathom.fm. Fathom uses the power of AI to reimagine the podcast search and discovery experience. Fathom was cofounded by Ken Miller and Paul Bloch in 2021 who’ve known each other since high school and worked together at two other companies including Kodak and Sacramento-based startup called Emtrain, a diversity and inclusion training company. We've grown from 2 cofounders to a team of 6 full-time and 2 part-time employees. Our mission is to bring search to podcasts and to make the podcast player of the future. A lot of amazing features are in the pipeline and we're excited to get them into the hands of podcast lovers.
During 2020 Ken began work on an AI model to search within podcasts. In January of 2021, after returning from Japan, Paul started working with Ken to create a prototype that showcased the search and “For You” feed of podcast highlights. We incorporated in March and raised our Pre-seed round led by Jason Calacanis' LAUNCH startup accelerator. Since that time we've brought the v1 of the product to market and closed our Seed round in March.
