Today on Financial Revelations, David talks about the importance of creating a budget, and along with an article from the Wall Street Journal, has come up with a list of his favorite budgeting apps. Ranging from free to $14.99 a month, the mobile apps can help you see where your money is going and allows you to link external accounts to easily create your budget.

According to a January 2025 WSJ article, Monarch Money is one of the best budgeting apps for 2025. Other top budgeting apps include: 
 
  • YNAB: A popular app that promotes zero-based budgeting
  • Goodbudget: An app for envelope budgeting
  • EveryDollar: A simple zero-based budgeting app created by Ramsey Solutions
  • Empower Personal Wealth: An app for tracking wealth and spending
  • PocketGuard: An app that simplifies spend tracking with its "In My Pocket" feature
  • Honeydue: An app for budgeting with a partner
  • Monarch Money: An app that consolidates all your accounts into one view

David also recommends NerdWallet and Quickbooks.
