1. It is conditional
God’s peace is not conditional based on your circumstance, but based on your surrender
The mind governed by the flesh is death… Romans 8:6 (NIV)
…but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6 (NIV)
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)
2. It doesn’t make sense
…The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:5-7(NIV)
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:5-7(NIV)
INTERNAL peace is possible even in EXTERNAL CHAOS.
3. It is closer than you think
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9 (NIV)
God doesn’t just offer peace… it’s part of who He is.
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 (NIV)
Immanuel = God With Us
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
