Competition vs. Calling
(Ephesians 4:1) (NIV) As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
(Ephesians 4:2) (NIV) Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
Colossians 2:9-10 (NCV) All of God lives fully in Christ (even when Christ was on earth), and you have a full and true life in Christ.
Questions that Break the Spirit of Competition:
What am I trying to prove? Wisdom
Ecclesiastes 1:17 (NIV) Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind.
To whom am I trying to prove it? World
Ecclesiastes 4:4 (NLT) Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
For what purpose am I trying to prove it? Worth
Ecclesiastes 2:11 (NLT) But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless—like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere.
(Ecclesiastes 4:6) (NIV) Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.
