Description

(Isaiah
61:1-3) “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has
anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the
brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness
for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of
vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who
grieve in Zion--to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil
of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of
despair…”

Overcoming
a loss

1.
Reveal
the hurt.

(Psalm 32:3)  “When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my
groaning all day long.”

(Psalm 39:2) “But when I was silent and still, not even saying anything
good, my anguish increased.”

2.
Release
the pain.

(Isaiah 43:18-19)  “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the
past.  See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not
perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the
wasteland.”

3.
Refocus
on God.

(1 Peter 5:6-7) “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty
hand, that he may lift you up in due time.  Cast all your anxiety on him
because he cares for you.”
