Title of my message is: The Plans
(Proverbs 19:21) (NLT) “You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.”
(John 16:13) (NLT) “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”
(2 Timothy 4:3-4 LB) “There is going to come a time when people won’t listen to the truth but will go around looking for teachers who will tell them just what they want to hear. They won’t listen to what the Bible says but will blithely follow their own misguided ideas.”
(John 16:13) (NLT) “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.”
The 3 Faces of God’s Will
1. His Sovereign will.
2. His Moral will.
3. His Personal will.
(Psalm 139:16) “…your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
(Romans 8:28) (NLT) “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
(Philippians 1:6) “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
What am I doing in my life that I should not be doing?
What’s in my life that is not like the Lord?
What is it that’s in my life that doesn’t line up with His convictions?
(Romans 6:1-2) “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means!”
(Hebrews 2:1) “We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.”
(Hebrews 12:2) “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
How to read the plans.
1. Give your life to God
(Matthew 18:14) “In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.”
(1 Peter 4:2)(NLT) “You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God.”
(1 Peter 4:3)(NLT) “You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy—their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols.”
2. Allow your mind to be transformed.
(Romans 12:2) (NLT) “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
3. Connect to God’s plan.
(Ephesians 2:10) “For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
