Title of my message is: The Values
(John 16:13) (NLT) “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”
(Psalm 39:4-5) (NLT) “Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered—how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”
(James 4:13-14) (NLT) “Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.”
(James 4:15-16) (NLT) “What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil.”
(James 4:17) (NLT) “Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.”
How do I maintain values?
1. Turn when into now.
(Mark 10:27) “…all things are possible with God."
(Psalm 118:24) (NLT) “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
2. Turn intentions into actions.
(James 4:17) (NLT) “Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.”
(1 John 3:18) “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”
3. Turn my whole heart toward Jesus.
(Mark 12:34) “When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God."”
(Matthew 6:33) (NLT) “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
