Title
of the message is: Going back to go forward
(Romans
3:23) “..for
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
(Psalm
51: 1-3) (NLT) “Have mercy on me, O God,
because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot
out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.
For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night.”
(Psalm
51: 4-6) (NLT) “Against you, and you alone,
have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right
in what you say, and your judgment against me is just. For I was born a
sinner—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. But you desire
honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom even there.”
(Psalm
51: 7-9) (NLT) “Purify me from my sins,
and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back
my joy again; you have broken me—now let me rejoice. Don’t keep
looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt.”
(Psalm
51: 10-12) (NLT) “Create in me a clean heart, O
God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and
don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your
salvation, and make me willing to obey you.”
How do I go back to go forward?
1.
Become
a new person with a new family.
(2 Corinthians 5:17) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!”
(Luke 14:26) (MSG) “…"Anyone who comes to me but refuses to let go of
father, mother, spouse, children, brothers, sisters—yes, even one's own
self!—can't be my disciple.”
2.
Give
God the broken pieces
(Exodus
15:26) “…for I am the Lord who heals you.”
(Jeremiah 30:17) (NLT)
“I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the Lord.”
3.
Begin
a new family tree
(Proverbs 20:7) (Msg)
“God-loyal people, living honest lives, make it much easier for their
children.”
