Join us this week as we tackle another of God's Fogotten Virtues, integrity. We hope you enjoy it.
Title of message: Integrity
Evangelism is: The spreading of the Christian gospel by preaching orpersonal witness.
What is Integrity?
Integrity = When your behavior matches your beliefs
(Proverbs 11:3) (NIV) The integrity of the upright guides them, but theunfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.
(Psalm 15:1-2) (GW) O Lord, who may stay in your tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one who walks with integrity, does what is righteous, and speaks the truth within his heart.
(Psalm 15:3-5) (GW) The one who does not slander with his tongue, do evil to a friend, or bring disgrace on his neighbor. The one who despises those rejected by God but honors those who fear the Lord. The one who makes a promise and does not break it, even though he is hurt by it. The one who does not collect interest on a loan or take a bribe against an innocent person.
Whoever does these things will never be shaken.
The Benefits of Integrity:
1. An intimacy with God.
2. A built-in guide
(Proverbs 11:3) (NIV) Theintegrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful aredestroyed by their duplicity.
(Psalm 119:105) (NIV) Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
3. A constant peace in your heart
4. A gain of trust, respect, honor and influence.
(Matthew 23:25-26, 28) “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
What is your integrity worth?
(Job 27:5-6) I will never admit you are in the right; till I die, I will not deny my integrity. I will maintain my innocence and never let go of it; my conscience will not reproach me as long as I live.
Hypocrisy's solution: Get to know Jesus personally
(Matthew 5:37) Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
(Matthew 7:22-23) (NIV) Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
(Romans 10:13) “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
