The Title of my message today is: Extraordinary Love
(John 13:34) “"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
(John 13:35) “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Extraordinary Love:
1. Sees other people as more important
(Philippians 2:3) “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.”
(Mark 9:35) “Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."”
(Luke 9:8)...“For he who is least among you all—he is the greatest."”
2. Looks out for the other person’s interest
(Philippians 2:4) “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
3. Has a Sacrificial Nature
(Philippians 2:5) “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus”
(Philippians 2:6-7) “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.”
(Philippians 2:8) “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross!”
(Ephesians 5:25) “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her”
(Ephesians 5:33) “However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”
