(Romans 1:21-25 NLT) “They knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools…As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie.”
(John 8:44) “…When (the devil) lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
The devil wants you to think sex is:
o An animalistic action.
o An activity.
o An isolated event.
The Truth About Sex
(John 8:32) “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
1. Sex is for married people.
(Genesis 2:20-24) “But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.”
(Genesis 2:25) “The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.”
2. Sex is the ultimate expression of intimacy.
(1 Corinthians 6:15-17) “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, ‘The two will become one flesh.’ But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.”
3. Sex should be taken seriously.
(1 Corinthians 6:18-20) “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”
What Now?
(John 10:10) “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
1. Admit your sin.
(Psalm 51:1) “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.”
2. Allow God to heal you.
(Job 11:13-16) “Yet if you devote your heart to (God) and stretch out your hands to him, if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent, then you will lift up your face without shame; you will stand firm and without fear. You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by.”
