5 Expressions of Love
1. Words of affirmation.
(Proverbs 18:21) “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
(Ephesians 4:29) “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
2. Acts of service.
(1 John 3:18) “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”
(Galatians 5:13) “You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.”
3. Gift giving.
(John 3:16) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

(Philippians 2:3-5) “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.”
(1 Corinthians 13:5 LB) “…Love does not demand its own way.”
5. Physical touch.
(Song of Solomon 4:1-3) “How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes behind your veil are doves. Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from Mount Gilead. Your teeth are like a flock of sheep just shorn, coming up from the washing. Each has its twin; not one of them is alone. Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon; your mouth is lovely. Your temples behind your veil are like the halves of a pomegranate.”
(1 Corinthians 6:16 Message) “There’s more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much a spiritual mystery as a physical fact. It is written in Scripture, ‘The two become one.’”
(1 John 4:7-8) “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
