In 2013, I decided that it was time to finally test my idea. I wanted to know if there was a need for a freelancers’ community. So in November 9, 2013, I was surprised to see almost 30 fellow freelancers show up in the first ever Freelance Blend Meetup at Coffee Bean in Greenbelt 5. The number of attendees alone proved that indeed it was time for freelancers to come together.
Facilitating a meetup group has opened a lot of doors for me. I went on Facebook Live last Friday, talking about the benefits of organizing and joining meetups. (You can watch the Facebook Live video here).
