Welcome to the 12th Edition of Funk Hut Radio with DJ Jeff C, DJ Megablack and DJ Seven
It’s impossible to describe in words how devastating it is to lose a family member, especially a parent. Less than a couple weeks ago on June 5, 2010, DJ Jeff C’s Mom , Mrs. Dot Carson, passed away in her sleep. Mrs. Carson, like many great Moms, was loved by all who were close to her and was motherly to many of Jeff’s friends, including me.
As artists (i.e. musicians, dancers, painters, actors, etc.), we have a tendency to naturally express our sorrow and feelings through our art. Jeff C is no different, and in his own way of dealing with the immense emotions of losing the Lady who loved him from birth, put together a beautifully crafted dedication mix in her honor. It was debated whether or not to publicly display the mix, being that it was originally meant for Jeff’s own private listening, with the exception of a very few close friends and family. Jeff insisted on uploading the mix and sharing it with the world, with the intention that it celebrates all great Mothers and those who honor their Moms in spirit or in life. Hopefully it touches your heart and soul the way it did for all of us.
Rest In Peace Mrs. Carson.
