It was so sad. Meeka truly wanted to be accepted, to belong. To be something more than what the others told her that she was. I'm sure she had dreams (if chickens have dreams) of being just 'one of the girls' but her desires never became more than what they were – desires. She learned to keep her distance to survive. The reality that the others projected upon her became the way she thought about herself. She even earned her name 'Meeka' from the unassuming attitude she adopted.
Zephaniah 3:17 " The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing."
