Adriene joins us to chat about her early life experiences and her book about it - "Unbroken - Life Outside The Lines".
We talk about the long list of trigger warnings from the various abuses Adriene went through and how she is breaking the cycle of generational trauma. We chat about foster care, little known things like oversight, stats on college and jail, group homes, Canadian girls and reservations, forgiveness, therapeutic care, people as professional foster parents, and her divine moment of serenity and peace.
In the second half we get into her attempts at unaliving herself, meds for depression, the book being cathartic, her quick cocaine addiction, drinking and sobriety, blowback, human trafficking, not identifying as the victim, shelter life, and the 5 years of hell writing the book. She also has a message for survivors and has an amazing life.
