Description

This sermon began a new series looking at the power of God's Kingdom over death and evil. In 1 Corinthians 15:55, St. Paul, reflecting on the Easter message, asks, "Where, o death, is your sting?"

We know all too well the sting of death. And yet God's Kingdom of life, and hope, and justice is breaking in even now. How do we live in that tension between present reality and future hope? How does the Bible help us understand what has gone wrong in the world, and what is God's solution to it? Do we have a part to play?

To answer these questions we look in the opening chapters of Genesis and Romans 8:17-28. Today laid the groundwork for the rest of the series, but the short version is this: God has not forgotten everything that was created 'good,' and we are invited to participate in God's renewal project called the Kingdom.

What was created good at the start will be completely redeemed by the end.
