This Sunday we looked at the second part of our mission statement: "Empower disciples to follow Jesus."
We talked about a passage usually called The Great Commission. At the end of Matthew's gospel, Jesus' last command to the his followers, and to us, is to "go therefore and make disciples." This means that we as a church don't have to wonder what our purpose is. We don't need to take a year to find our what God wants from us. Jesus made it very clear: we are to be about making disciples. A church can do many good things, but if it is not making disciples, it has veered off course from Jesus' desire.
If we are not discipling, we are drifting.
