- What is treasure? Treasure is anything you value above all else. Your treasure motivates you to action.
- Jesus speaks of earthly treasure and it's value. v. 19
- Jesus speaks of eternal treasure and it's value. v. 20
- We store up "treasure in heaven" when we make choices on earth that benefit God's kingdom.
- Jesus knows your treasure reveals your values. v. 21
- When Jesus is our treasure, we will commit our resources: our time, talent, and treasure to His kingdom work.
What is God's treasure?
- God's earthly treasure is His chosen people Israel. Deut. 7:6
- God's eternal treasure is those who have believed and received the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:9-10
