OVERVIEW:

Jason A. Duprat, Entrepreneur, Healthcare Practitioner and Host of the Healthcare Entrepreneur Academy podcast speaks with Alesia Quante, CRNA, career coach and educator for aspiring 1099 CRNAs. Alesia talks about her entrepreneurial journey from living on a sailboat and working as a travel nurse to pursuing her career as a CRNA and launching her online course. She highlights the pros of being a 1099 and the associated opportunities and freedom it provides.

EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS:

3 KEY POINTS:

  1. A 1099 CRNA is an independent contractor and a business owner. It allows you to have freedom while still practicing as a CRNA. You can obtain multiple state licenses and  practice wherever you want, giving you power over your income.
  2. Transitioning from a W2 to 1099 CRNA has a learning curve. As an independent contractor, you need to learn the ropes, including billing, managing your business and setting up HSAs. Find a mentor who can help you shorten the learning curve.
  3. Creating online courses isn’t a walk in the park. You need to learn how to make your courses, funnel interested students and monetize the course. You should acquire the proper tools and find a mentor.
