This is the FULL unedited version of the medley that was released on Hot Tracks Remix Service issue 4-1. It was taken from the master reel to reel tape that Glenn Cattanach sent me to convert to digital. Glenn sent me this message to add to the write up.....
We completed the 1984 Top 40 Medley in late 1984 and sent a cassette to Hot Tracks and Razormaid. (Years later Joseph Watt told me he listened to the medley, thought it was quite good, but it wasn't for Razormaid.) Hot Tracks listened to the cassette tape and Gini (Hot Tracks director) contacted us and told us they wanted the medley master tape for a future issue. We were excited that our project was going to be pressed on vinyl.
When the actual record arrived, we were miffed that our Madonna mini medley and a few other songs had been removed from our medley that appeared on the "C" side.
Unknown to us, Hot Tracks had planned an "A" side Madonna medley: "Mad about Madonna" on the same issue our medley appeared. Unfortunately for us, most of OUR Madonna medley was incorporated into the "A" side medley.
We were the only ones that knew medley had been shortened, so no one thought anything. Luckily Glenn still had the original master (retained for over 30 years) and that is presented here.
